Ginny Hayes crept out of her room and into the dimly lit corridor. She paused, scanning the hall for the hawk-eyed Nurse Calloway. She tightened the belt of her terry cloth robe and shuffled as fast as she could across the hallway to Room 309. The door opened with a betraying click and she flinched at the echoing noise. Hurrying inside, she carefully guided the door closed then splayed herself against the wall, listening for the slap of Nurse Calloway’s shoes against the linoleum floor.
